  1. How do I know if my college or university will accept my roommate request?


    This is not something that dormbunkie can guarantee to its customers. To find out if your college or university will accept a roommate request, dormbunkie suggests you contact the residence life department for your college or university and inquire directly.


  2. Why should I use dormbunkie?


    College is a HUGE investment of time and money. It is also some of the best four years of your life and you want to get the most out of your college experience. Being content in your living quarters is very important to attaining that goal. This is at the very heart of why we founded dormbunkie. If you have never shared a room before college, this can be a shocking experience. Dorm rooms are generally way too small for the number of people sharing the room. If you are not on the same page, it could be a nightmare. If you and your roommate are compatible, it could mean you just found your best bud for life.


  3. How detailed should I be in describing myself in my profile?


    VERY! We simply can’t emphasize enough the importance of being truthful and clear in describing yourself. This is not a time to worry about making a good impression. We suggest that you ask your siblings, your best friend at home or even your parents (yes, even your parents), how they would describe you. The key to dormbunkie working for you, is to really let people know who you are and what it would be like to room with you.


  4. Do I really want to room with someone EXACTLY like me?


    Probably not, and that is the beauty of dormbunkie. Dormbunkie allows you to find that person who shares the very things that are important to you. At the same time, dormbunkie can help you to reach out and find someone who has a different, but still complimentary personality to yours. For example, having a very clean roommate may be highly important to you, but you may be somewhat shy and looking for a roommate who is going to be a more extroverted individual. Dormbunkie, helps you locate those specifics.


  5. Can dormbunkie guarantee that the person I find will be the right bunkie for me?


    Dormbunkie is a service designed to give you information so YOU can make a more enlightened decision for yourself. We certainly would never presume to know what is important to you, only you know that. Dormbunkie wants to give you the tools for you to find that person who fits you best. In the final analysis, you should always try to meet that person, have personal contact (prior to attending your college or university), and rely on your best judgment.


  6. What is the difference between a free profile and a premium upgrade?

    With a premium upgrade (paid membership) you will have full access to messaging and e-mail services with other paid members.

Payment Information

  1. Is there a cost?


    You can take us for a test drive for free. There is no charge to fill out a limited profile and do searches for potential roommates. When you are ready, you can upgrade your account to a paid membership and take advantage of all that dormbunkie has to offer. The cost will be a one-time fee of $9.99. This one-time fee of $9.99 will give you access to have a complete profile.


  2. Is the fee refundable?


    The fee will not be refundable. If you have any questions, please contact us at sales@dormbunkie.com.


  3. What are valid methods of payment?


    Acceptable methods of payment will include Visa, Mastercard, Discover.


  4. How can I upgrade from a free profile to a premium membership?


    If you have been browsing dormbunkie and you want to become a paid member of the site, all you have to do is login and select “UPGRADE” in the top bar of your profile next to “MY ACCOUNT” and enter your billing information to be processed.


  5. If I pick my roommate, and I change my mind, can I log back into the website and continue my search?


    Yes! Once you have chosen your roommate, your profile will be deactivated but NOT deleted. We will still keep it on our servers. If, however, the roommate you have chosen does not seem to be the right choice and you want to gain access back to the site, simply log back into the site with your initial username and password and you will be prompted to reactivate your account, free of charge.


  6. What happens if I transfer to a new school?


    You can still use dormbunkie. Our goal is to provide you with the ability to search for your ideal college roommate. You will only have to pay a one-time fee with our site and you can customize your profile to your liking, including changing the school you will be attending.

Privacy and Maintenance

  1. How do I report unacceptable or inappropriate behavior?


    If another member at dormbunkie is harassing you or sending any inappropriate messages, please e-mail us at safety@dormbunkie.com with your name, contact information, and a detailed description of your issue, or you can contact us by phone. Please visit our Contact Us page for more information. Dormbunkie does NOT condone harassment or inappropriate behavior AT ALL. We ask that you report any problems immediately, and if a member is in fact violating the privacy policy, they will be banned from the website permanently.


  2. Do you give my information to third-parties?


    Your information is not given to any third-parties at all, unless as otherwise stated in the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. Dormbunkie does not contact the colleges or universities that our customers plan on attending. In addition, we will not sell or divulge your information to any other third parties.


  3. Is my personal information on the website safe from other members?


    Dormbunkie will do everything in their power to ensure that your safety and security are protected from other members on the site. However, we implore you to be cautious of the information that you post about yourself on the site.
